The Somali National Army (SNA) will soon drive al-Shabaab out of the
Jubba regions, UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported Thursday (December
20th).
Lieutenant Colonel Fathi Hussein Abdi told the news agency that the SNA is making final preparations for an impending assault on al-Shabaab targeting Buale, Hagar and Jilib.
The SNA recently carried out security operations in government-controlled Dhobley and Afmadow, he said.
Al-Shabaab still controls several towns in the Jubba regions, despite losing major strongholds in recent months.
